Run by two young, energetic coffee fanatics, they first opened inside Harvest & Co – a design store. After quickly outgrowing the store, they opened up their own place in West Amsterdam. «It’s particularly special because they roast their own beans in house» Kate explains with a certain coffee pride in her face.
This coffee house is quirky with nice design, a good vibe and the smell of the freshly ground beans wafting through the air. These guys are talented and it shows in the often busy line at the door. But it’s worth the wait. One of the barista’s even won an award for Dutch Barista Champion of 2015.
Who’s Kate?
Kate is unique. She is a quirky, ball of energy and as loveable as a cute puppy. She is our Barista in Werkplaats and her love and passion for coffee is obvious in the great coffee she makes. «I found the love for making good coffee back in the US from a very passionate boss. There’s so much to learn about coffee. It’s great that you can interact with people whilst producing something of high quality.»
Kate likes to rap about dogs (it started as a joke), draw obscure creatures and be sociable. She moved here from the US, but for Visa reasons will be leaving us this Summer, which we are very sad about. But she will be going on a high, with her joint exhibition alongside our other talented Barista, inspired by ‘Mind Expansion’. Come and see it in Werkplaats and we recommend you test out her coffee making skills whilst you’re there.
