For five evenings, from the 17th of May (excluding Dutch school and bank holidays & other black-out dates), Doka will transform into a music production studio.
Get hands-on experience, learn to produce electronic music with Ableton Live and hardware instruments under the wing of experienced lecturers/artists/producers. Including a 1-on-1 coaching session in the Broedplaats in the basement of the Volkshotel.
The programme is refined at the beginning of the 5-week-session together with the participants. These sessions will be focused on the exploration of the Ableton Live DNA, for all users from beginner to intermediate levels (for those who have either never used the software and or made electronic music before, to those wishing to switch from another platform, and those who have been tinkering with Ableton and wish to take full control and understand the ins and outs the software). The skill level will be adjusted up or down in accordance to the varying levels of experience of the participants.
The sessions are hands-on and geared towards the practice of electronic music production, recording, mixing (and live performance).

“After 15 years of teaching Ableton Live and music production, I have noticed that students learn the most by jamming, and collaborating with others in the studio and the classroom. ‘Doka Studio’ is a perfect location for production, performance, and listening sessions, and so I aim to make full use of the space to let everyone’s creative juices flow.”
Julien has helped with transforming Doka into a true sound bar. Read more about it here
