Studio/K
Studio/K is a multidisciplinary theater that functions as a (live) music venue, gallery and bar/restaurant but is first and foremost known as a unique arthouse cinema in Amsterdam East. The venue is known for its progressive selection that is programmed and operated by over 50 enthusiastic students.
Cineville
Cineville is the biggest film club in the Netherlands. With their cinema subscription, they show the country that the world of cinema is an endlessly rich and fabulous place. A place that is hilarious as well as bloody serious, cruel and sweet, and ranges from wonderfully superficial to brain-teasing. Just like the programme of Short Movie Sunday.
Moviezone (Eye) & De Ontmoeting
Moviezone and ‘De Ontmoeting’ are joining forces during Short Movie Sunday and present a selection of shorts of their collaborative project AWARE. MovieZone is the youth platform of Eye Filmmuseum. It aims to provide fundamental tools to young people from diverse backgrounds to develop their future careers in cinema. ‘De Ontmoeting’ is a foundation that stimulates upcoming talent in the Dutch movie industry. By giving them the means and opportunities to produce new shorts ‘De Ontmoeting’ tries to present new makers to a larger audience.
PLUK de NACHT
PLUK de NACHT is a yearly open air film festival. Every summer they treat Amsterdam with their selection of unreleased independent art-house cinema, documentaries, animation and shorts.
Halal
Halal is a production company, photography agency & creative studio that redefines moments of popular culture through radical approaches to storytelling. This institution has produced some of the most memorable music videos in the Netherlands, of which they will showcase an one-off selection.
Broedplaats VKG
In the back wing of Volkshotel, you can find Broedplaats VKG. This cultural hub is the place for experiments and the workspace of notable creative minds and talent, including movie, animation, and documentary makers. A selection of their repertoire is displayed in the hotel.
