Damn Fucking Horny reading by DAMN, HONEY // 15 March (19:00 – 22:00)
DAMN, HONEY is an easily accessible feminist platform, started by founding mothers Marie Lotte Hagen and Nydia van Voorthuizen. Together they compiled the sexiest book of the moment: ‘Damn Horny’. A diverse collection of stories about sexuality and queerness, that steers far from the cis male gaze. During this reading, several authors that contributed to the book will read one of their stories.
Bring Your Own Book Borrel // 17 March (17.00-02.00)
To celebrate the opening of our new public bookcase, we invite you for a borrel in our lobby cafe – BYOB style, but slightly different. This time we ask you to bring your finished book(s) with you to add to our bookcase. No booze then? Don’t worry, at the bar you can get plenty of drinks and good tunes will be provided by one of our resident DJs.
Book market curated by De Utrechtse Boekenbar // 18 March (12.00-18.00)
Together with De Utrechtse Boekenbar, we bring you a special book market in our lobby. On this Saturday afternoon market, a variety of publishers and shops show and sell their most precious books. Drop by and treat yourself or your loved ones to a present, have a beer and enjoy some music.
Inclusive read-aloud by Educulture // 19 March (14.00-16.00)
Join us for a read-aloud in our cafe together with Educulture. Educulture is a unique bookstore for kids in Amsterdam East, known for its offer of diverse and inclusive books. Books that function as mirrors on which children can recognize themselves, and windows that allow them to get a glimpse into the world of others.
