Busker’s Inn // Street music festival

Hotel

On Sunday June 11th Volkshotel transforms into Busker’s Inn. Where talented street musicians from all over the world check in, take stage and get the spotlight they deserve.

Busker’s Inn is a live music festival where street musicians take over Volkshotel. The whole building will be filled with music. The basement, hotel rooms, hallways, meeting rooms and the roof will transform into a stage for buskers from all over the world. Expect folk, blues, country, bluegrass, balkan and classical. Played live at unusual places, by passionate and talented musicians.

Everyone is welcome to join and entrance is free. You do need to bring your wallet though, because the street musicians will (just like on the streets) pass the hat around after playing. You decide what you think a performance is worth and your donation goes directly (and entirely) to the musician.

Programme

// Neutral Ground Brass Band // Brass
The NGBB ties together swingy tradition and steamy second-line-grooves from the streets of New Orleans.

// Khayâl // Ambient/Tribal/World
Combining ancient drums, classical strings and modern handpan, Khayâl melts into fusion the elements of world, tribal, ambient and psychedelic music.

// Capti Rando // Funk/Soul/Pop
Capti Rando is unpredictable and imaginative. A singer who plays whatever instrument he can get his hands on.

// Subterranean Street Society // Folk/Blues/Indie
A trio that brings together Danish street musician Louis Puggaard Müller, New Zealand drummer Ryan Wilson and Dutch bass
player Ivo Schot.

// David Knight // Roots/Indie
David Knight is an exciting and gifted artist on the Australian music scene. Since age 11, David has been studying the guitar in all its forms.

// Bjarke Ramsing // Roots/Blues/Folk
For the last couple of years Bjarke has been settling with his music in the Netherlands. Sheltering under the warmth and laughters of squats and farms.

// All The King’s Daughters // Pop/Folk
All The King’s Daughters is a small band formed around the twin sisters and singer- songwriters Nina and Laura Philips.

// Ken Parsons // Celtic/Folk
Ken Parsons is a Celtic harper, singer and entertainer. Expect beautiful harp songs, deadly witty short poems and crafted original songs in every possible style.

// Mellie Meteors // Pop/Singer-songwriter/Indie
Expect uplifting melodies alternated with intense vocal acrobatics. Witty songs about loss, with a playful touch of hope.

// Baragan // Pop/Folk
The folky pop songs of Baragan take you on a journey. This music that was born on the road and ripened on the streets.

// Lost Cabin // Bluegrass/Swing/Country
These vintage fashion lovin’ galls will razz your berry with instruments like mandolin, ukulele, violin, kazoo, washtub bass, spoons and washboard.

// Anouk Visée // Pop/Indie-Folk
Repetitive indie-folk songs, her dreary but bright voice and use of a Boss looping station. She forms her own band while playing solo.

// gHSTS & gUITARS // Dreamy
A guitar, loop pedal and a toy xylophone, pulled along on a bicycle based sound system. He creates misty and melodic tunes as he goes.

// Documentary: We Took The Streets // by Joost Biesheuvel
Drop by Cinema Boudoir (one of our nine Special Rooms) for this short documentary about three of Europe’s most successful street musicians.
