Volkshotel’s first birthday party
Saturday 27 june 2015, we host our first birthday party: a day, evening and night full of festivities. The doors are open day & night, the full programme is completely free of charge and spreads out throughout the entire building. We’ve invited our friends like Fringe Festival, Creative Mornings, 22tracks and 24classics. So the birthday festival will be a small recap of the first year of Volkshotel.
From cider to illustrations – during the day, local makers will show their skills at the Volkshotel market and 22tracks will host an extensive brunch, including lobsters, bloody- marys and djs. In the evening, the programme will spread out throughout the building – from theatre in hotel rooms, live music in the lobby, a mini arcade hall and romantic advice from one of Holland’s most favorite men Maxim Hartman. The party continues with a free club night, including a South-African brass band and local djs such as Philou Louzolo.
Creative spot
Not in Amsterdam on the 27th? Not to worry, because no matter when you’ll arrive – you’ll never be bored in Volkshotel. General Manager Jose Dol: “This coming year, we will continue to stand out as a creative spot. Together with creative minds and partners like Unseen and ADE we work hard to present our guests and locals a diverse and creative programme. After the success of the pilot, our very own music and theatre festival Secret Rooms we will definitely come back – bigger & better. Next to that, we will keep on hosting cultural events and we’ve got plans for a new artist in residence project.”
