Tess: “If you’re a fan of ramen noodles, you have got to check this place out. It’s an absolutely tiny little restaurant in De Jordaan”. There’s only one employee: the Japanese owner is the host and the chef hence the name Men Impossible (and men means noodles in Japanese too). The interior is simple, there’s one big table, large enough for about 15 guests. “So basically it feels like you’re at a family dinner”.
He serves a plant based ramen, that’s so flavorful that it would even please a die-hard carnivore, says Tess. “I think this is one of Amsterdam’s best kept secrets”. Men Impossible has only been open for about a year now and the word is mostly only spreading mouth to mouth. One last tip for you from Tess: “Make a reservation before you go, otherwise you’ll most likely be disappointed”.
Who is Tess?
A little over a year ago, Tess started as waitress in Canvas. Not too long after that, she became a shiftleader and now she also manages Canvas during club nights. And on top of that, Tess does production for the cultural programme in Doka. (Check out what’s going on in Canvas en Doka on volkshotel.nl/agenda). In her spare time Tess is an avid reader, who always carries one or two books in her bag. And another hobby is finding great places to eat (vegan) food, so you know her tip is trustworthy for sure.
